model for this painting was from Hamilton Montana. He was a very colorful character and his career had been involved as stunt man for the Western movie industry. He was also very active in rendezvous where he could play act in all of his period cowboy wardrobe and collections. The challenge in making this painting was to capture his character, the affection and emotional energy between he and his four legged friend.
