Various Plains tribes decorated their cloth dresses with trade items of
ribbons, beads and hundreds of dentalium shells from the costal tribes.
Umbrellas and parasols were also a fascination and were commonly
used for shade. This little native girl displays her finery in the shade of
her umbrella.
